Outdoor Heat Pump + Indoor Air Handler

The outdoor unit contains the compressor, outdoor coil, fan and refrigeration controls. The indoor air handler contains the indoor coil and blower that moves conditioned air through the duct system.

During cooling, the indoor coil absorbs heat from the building. During heating, the refrigeration cycle reverses so the indoor coil releases heat into the supply air.
